Batteries bend for wearable devices, other exotic uses

A battery that bends and stretches may be just around the corner, opening the way to a wide variety of new uses. Northwestern University mechanical engineer Yonggang Huang developed the battery, which consists of small, wirelessly rechargeable lithium-based batteries embedded in a sheet of silicone. Among the uses envisioned are wearable electronics and brainwave monitors that can be implanted.
