Federal cloud adoption may be about to take off

Federal government agencies are primed to embrace cloud technologies on a big scale in a quest to save money and improve efficiency across IT operations, John Higgins writes. Annual federal cloud spending is predicted to total $3.1 billion by 2017, compared with $734 million in fiscal 2012, research firm Deltek says. "The rubber is really starting to hit the road for cloud adoption at the federal level, and we have seen it pick up in the states as well," said Kloudtrack's Michael Binko.
