Government witness accuses BP of misreporting on Gulf operations

BP proceeded with its Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Horizon drilling project despite perilous conditions and it failed to fully inform regulators about its activities prior the 2010 oil spill, a witness for the federal government said during a civil trial over the incident. Internal documents from BP and the Minerals Management Service showed the company engaged in a "consistent pattern of misreporting" to authorities, said Alan Huffman, a well design expert and geophysicist.
