Pandora to reduce free play on mobile devices

Pandora, citing royalty costs, says it will limit free play of streaming music on mobile devices to 40 hours per month. "After a close look at our overall listening, a 40-hour-per-month mobile listening limit allows us to manage these escalating costs with minimal listener disruption," Pandora founder Tim Westergren wrote Wednesday in a blog post. More than three-quarters of Pandora usage involves mobile devices, according to the company.
