Report: Women's place in U.S. media in "crisis"

The status of women in American media represents a “crisis” with men overwhelmingly dominant in both print and television, according to a report from the Women’s Media Center. "We live in a racially and ethnically diverse nation that is 51% female, but the news media itself remains staggeringly limited to a single demographic,” wrote the authors of the Status of Women in the U.S. Media report.
