NuVal scoring system could help improve overall nutrition

The items ranked highly by the NuVal Nutritional Scoring System have a high correlation to foods recommended by the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension, or DASH, diet, a study found. The study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, also showed that about 80% of consumers would purchase more nutritious food if guided by the NuVal system, which rates a food's nutrition on a scale of 1 to 100.
