U.S. ethanol production rose again in December, EIA says

Daily output of U.S. ethanol rose for the third straight month in December amid low prices for corn and natural gas, according to the Energy Information Administration. Distillers produced 787,870 barrels per day of ethanol in December, up from 786,400 barrels in November. "It's become more economical for producers to make ethanol as corn prices fall," said Matt Hartwig, communications director of the Renewable Fuels Association.
