Miami museum to showcase sustainable design

Work began last Friday on the new Miami Science Museum, which is being touted as a model of innovation and sustainability. The 250,000-square-foot museum complex will have a "living core," a 600,000-gallon aquarium facility, a 3D planetarium, constructed wetlands to contain and filter stormwater runoff, and vegetated roofs. It will be shaped to mitigate damage from hurricanes.
