NRC, SCE discuss restart plan for San Onofre

Southern California Edison and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission met this week to address the utility's plan for the restart of the Unit 2 reactor of the San Onofre nuclear plant in California. SCE seeks to operate the facility at 70% capacity for five months, then shut it down to inspect steam generator tubes. The parties, however, are at odds about whether the proposal follows technical standards in the license for the unit.
