Study: Free iOS apps gather more private information

Free applications from the App Store are more likely to collect personal information from their users than Google Play's free apps, according to a study by Appthority, which evaluates mobile apps. Three-fifths of those iOS free apps collected location data and more than half gathered the contact lists of users, the firm found. Free Android apps also did those things, but in smaller proportions.
