Tenn. bill encourages prenatal intervention for opioid addiction

The Tennessee Senate Health and Welfare Committee voted on Wednesday in favor of a bill, sponsored by Sen. Ken Yager, R-Harriman, that would provide early prenatal intervention and drug rehabilitation to pregnant women who misuse prescription opioids. “The Safe Harbor Act of 2013 provides a woman with a strong incentive to do the right thing for her baby,” Yager said.
