Study: Eagle Ford Shale drilling won't deplete aquifer

Oil and natural gas drilling in the Eagle Ford Shale play in Texas isn't likely to deplete the Carrizo-Wilcox aquifer, according to a study from an Eagle Ford task force. The group was created in response to the potential impact of hydraulic fracturing on water levels in the aquifer. "We will continue to study best practices for water management in the region to help mitigate any future issues," said Texas Railroad Commissioner David Porter.
