Study: Hospitals reap benefits from advanced EMR systems

Hospitals with advanced EMR environments report gaining benefits such as operational efficiencies, patient safety and clinical quality, according to a study by HIMSS Analytics and The Advisory Board. More specifically, 94% of respondents said they used the systems to cut adverse drug effects, while 73% said they tailored the technology to enhance quality measures for venous thromboelism.
