Asset-backed securitisations must be simpler and more transparent, said Michel Stubbe, head of market-operations analysis at the European Central Bank. "Securitisation remains a vital term funding tool for banks," said Stubbe, who noted that the views are his own and not representative of the central bank's position. "It is important that it recovers as quickly as possible as it helps banks fulfill their asset-liability management." Stubbe was speaking at the AFME/ESF and IMN structured-credit conference.
