HIV down among IV drug users, but risky behaviors persist

A 2009 survey of 10,000 people revealed that only 9% of IV drug users were infected with HIV, a significant decrease from 18% in the 1990s, according to CDC researchers. However, needle-sharing and other risky behaviors continue, researchers said, and they found that HIV testing among high-risk individuals was down.
