Mobile apps, search sites increasingly important to local businesses

Almost half of wireless-device users turn to mobile applications to find information about local businesses, with 64% of tablet owners using their devices at least once a week to search for stores nearby, according to a comScore survey. One analyst warned, however, that stores must make sure they supply consistent data across all wireless apps because of the fragmented nature of mobile platforms.
