Austrian lab to use HLA test as routine diagnostic test

The Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service of Upper Austria has received the green light from the European Federation for Immunogenetics to use human leukocyte antigen tests based on an advanced gene sequencing tool from Roche Holding. The test previously has been used mainly for research, but its diagnostic use could become standard, according to the laboratory.
