Southwest announces capacity cutbacks:

Southwest Airlines "has determinedly put the brakes on its expansion plans," according to the Dallas Morning News. Southwest has reportedly announced plans to shrink capacity by 4% this year, taking delivery of 10 new planes while retiring 12 older models. CEO Gary Kelly says the carrier wants to grow in the long term, but that now is not the time for expansion.
