Survey finds that families are unsure about autism-insurance laws

Many families affected by autism are unsure of the related insurance laws in their state, according to a survey by patient-advocacy company MedClaims Liaison and Autism Speaks. "The results of this survey clearly indicate that passing autism insurance reform ... is just the first phase of helping families access the services and treatments their children need. Once a bill is enacted, we must turn our attention to implementation and enforcement," said Peter Bell, executive vice president of programs and services at Autism Speaks.
