China considers best ways to serve cross-border pupils

Fanny Law Fan Chiu-fun, a Hong Kong deputy to the National People's Congress and former secretary for education and manpower, is encouraging officials in China and Hong Kong to give greater consideration to the needs of students who cross the border each day for school. Among her suggestions are for China to begin operating Hong Kong-style schools. One official in China said he plans to propose such a move, with the schools being staffed with principals and teachers from Hong Kong.
