Telcos take on cable

SBC Communications today starts selling TV services co-branded with DISH Network, and other telcos are firming up plans to bundle satcast video in their service packages. The telcos' bundles offer one advantage over those offered by cable -- wireless services -- and the new packages are expected to blunt the slowdown the Bells have experienced in their core telephony businesses.
