Decision to slash Yucca funding raises eyebrows

President Barack Obama's decision to eliminate much of the funding for the Yucca Mountain nuclear storage facility is questioned in this editorial. Nuclear energy has saved about 48 million tons of sulfur dioxide, 19 million tons of nitrogen oxide and 8.7 trillion tons of carbon dioxide from being emitted since 1995, according to the Nuclear Energy Institute.
