Group urges FDA to develop identification system for medical devices

The Advancing Patient Safety Coalition sent a letter to the FDA asking it to introduce this year a rule that would require the creation of a unique-device-identifier system for medical devices. In its letter, the group answered five questions posed by the FDA in January about how a UDI system should be set up.
