News Corp., Disney start talks to resolve Hulu impasse

News Corp. and Walt Disney Co., each of which controls roughly one-third of Hulu, reportedly have started negotiations over the site's future that could include one buying the other out. Comcast controls the other third of the video site, but its ownership of NBC precludes it from having a vote. News Corp. and Disney have disagreed about the direction of the site, with the former favoring its subscription model and the latter preferring to focus on its ad-supported business.
