Researchers develop genetic blueprint of gut microbes

An international team of scientists said they completed sequencing the genomes of microbes in the human digestive system and found that most humans seem to share a substantial number of bacteria. They hope the findings could lead to treatments for intestinal diseases such as ulcers and inflammatory bowel disease.
