Participants at a Public Transportation forum in Chicago learned that improved rail infrastructure, economic progress, cleaner air and reduced congestion on rail routes on Chicago's South Side are some of the benefits of the Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency Program. The program is a joint effort among several organizations, including the Association of American Railroads and the U.S. freight railroads.
