AAR says mandatory switching would produce inefficiencies

A call for mandatory switching threatens to "trigger serious service failures on today's nationwide rail system and wipe out the efficiencies U.S. businesses have come to expect and rely on," said Edward Hamberger, CEO and president of the Association of American Railroads. The statement comes in response to a proposal by the National Industrial Transportation League.
