Baby is functionally cured of HIV, doctors say

Doctors have reported the case of a Mississippi girl who was functionally cured of HIV following aggressive care with antiretroviral drugs soon after her birth. Tests have found pieces of the virus but no sign they can infect cells or reproduce. Researchers are planning to conduct studies to see whether the treatment can be used for other infants.
