HOAs, town team up to promote emergency preparedness

A meeting for HOAs in Middle Smithfield, Pa., discussed the importance of emergency preparedness. "One of the big lessons learned from the recent Hurricane Sandy include the need for current contact information, preparedness and communication," township Supervisor Mike Dwyer said. "As much as we were able to reach many residents during the storm through e-mail or Facebook, there were others in homeowner associations that did not know where to go for emergency services, warming stations or just to find out what is going on."
