Network-segmentation demand raises misconfiguration risk

Network-segmentation strategies used by corporations to wall off sensitive data to a select audience are becoming so complex that in some cases, they are leading to misconfiguration risk or even security vulnerability. That is because firewalls are proliferating in response to demand for segmentation, making it difficult for administrators to keep up. One study shows that one-third of organizations make 100 or more firewall changes a month.
