Teardown of Apple's Lightning adapter finds an ARM-based SoC

Panic Software conducted a teardown of the new Lightning Digital AV Adapter from Apple and found it contains a system-on-a-chip device based on an ARM Holdings design and a stacked 256-megabyte memory module from SK Hynix. Brian Klug of AnandTech speculates that the SoC could be for decoding video signals from a connected iPad or iPhone.
