The Transportation Security Administration said Friday it would enact a hiring freeze and lower overtime spending as a result of federal spending cuts. The move would likely create longer security wait times at airports. "With TSA staffing levels decreasing over time, we expect that during busy travel periods wait times exceeding 30 to 40 minutes could double at nearly all of the largest airports," TSA said in a statement.
