WTC construction will create 26,000 construction jobs

Rebuilding the World Trade Center site will create more than 26,000 construction jobs and generate $3.7 billion in income by 2016, according to a study by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The estimate takes into account the construction of office towers, a Sept. 11 memorial and a transit hub in New York City. The study excludes the impact of planned office towers that will be owned privately.
