RUS allots $255M in rural-broadband grants

U.S. Commerce Department officials on Thursday disclosed another series of broadband-stimulus grants, a $254.6 million allocation from the Rural Utilities Service for 22 projects in 18 states, all part of the stimulus program's first round of funding. The grants bring to $895 million the monies the RUS has earmarked, about one-third of its total allocation.
