EBA is reportedly considering including RMBS in liquidity buffers

The European Banking Authority is looking into allowing high-quality, liquid residential mortgage-backed securities to be counted toward banks' liquidity buffers under the Basel III rules, sources said. A previous draft of the Capital Requirements Directive appeared to exclude all asset-backed securities from counting toward the buffer.
