EPA to honor DIRECTV with Energy Star Award

For the third straight year, the federal government will honor DIRECTV for its work to improve energy efficiency, presenting the company with an Energy Star Award in a ceremony March 15 in Washington, D.C. DIRECTV says the Environmental Protection Agency will also cite the satellite service's introduction of a central HD DVR as a way of eliminating the need for set-top boxes throughout the home.
