Counseling helps patients, family with difficult transition

Pastor Chris Lanzara of New Hampshire's Portsmouth Regional Hospital says palliative care counseling helps patients and families make the difficult transition "from a normal concept of health, even of invincibility, to the realization that they are facing a life-limiting situation." Families should be aware that relationships as well as their sense of identity can change and that the grieving process can begin.
