Defense appropriations bill faces tight deadline

A defense spending bill is likely doomed if it's not passed this month, says House Armed Services Committee Vice Chairman Rep. Mac Thornberry, R-Texas. If Congress doesn't approve the appropriations bill in what Thornberry called a "limited window," the military will have to function under a continuing resolution, which some military officials have said is not their preferred approach to funding.
