Dermatology exams lead to better melanoma outcomes

Patients with melanoma who had seen a dermatologist even once had better prognoses than those who had not previously visited a dermatologist, perhaps due to greater awareness in the first group, researchers report. The results suggest that screening for everyone older than 50 is cost-effective, researchers said.
