Entergy exec touts nuclear's key role in U.S. energy mix

The U.S. needs to maintain a diverse energy mix that includes nuclear power, said William Mohl, president of Entergy Wholesale Commodities. To replace nuclear energy generation with gas-fired combined-cycle gas turbine plants, the country would have to invest up to $110 billion, which would overwhelm the power industry, Mohl said. Nuclear plants also play a key role in fighting climate change because they don't generate greenhouse-gas emissions, he added.
