Excessive EHR notifications can interfere with care, survey finds

Excessive EHR alerts can cause doctors to overlook abnormal test results, delaying the delivery of patient care, according to a survey of clinicians. The median number of daily alerts received by primary care practitioners was 63, and 69.6% of clinicians reported getting more notifications than they could handle.
