Officials in Memphis, Tenn., look forward to 9-1-1 texting

Public safety officials in Memphis, Tenn., hope to have 9-1-1 texting available soon and say the state 9-1-1 board has been laying the groundwork for the next-generation technology. Shelby County 9-1-1 Director Raymond Chiozza says concerns to be addressed include the delay when sending and receiving text messages, knowing the source of a text, and making sure dispatchers are able to reconnect with callers.
