Study sees sharp production increases from tight-oil, deepwater plays

Energy companies are exploring more tight-oil and deepwater formations for hydrocarbons, experts said during the CERAWeek 2012 conference. "I'd say it's only just begun," said James Farnsworth, Cobalt's chief exploration officer. Total output from tight-oil and deepwater plays is expected to reach 12.4 million barrels per day by 2020, according to IHS CERA.
