Verizon offers LTE-based broadband for remote homes

Verizon Wireless has introduced HomeFusion, a wireless broadband service aimed at homes in areas lacking access to DSL or cable services. The service will require homeowners to install a $200 cylindrical antenna on an external wall and pay $60 a month for 10 gigabytes of data. Verizon expects to roll out the service initially this month in areas surrounding Dallas; Nashville, Tenn.; and Birmingham, Ala., before expanding the service to its entire Long-Term Evolution footprint this year.
