Partial collapse of green roof leads Ill. firm to file a $13M lawsuit

A 500-by-60-foot section of the green roof that caved in at the Aquascape office in 2011 in St. Charles, Ill., has led the company to file a $13 million lawsuit against nine contractors, architects and construction companies involved in the design and building of the structure. "The structure was not appropriately designed and constructed," according to the suit. Area Erectors, one of the defendants, said that it only erected the steel structure and that it followed the project's blueprints and designs.
