Parties disagree on effects of cuts to MA plans

Democrats say further reductions in federal subsidies to private Medicare Advantage plans will reduce spending without harming benefits, citing a Government Accountability Office report that revealed $3.2 billion in overpayments from 2010 to 2012. Republicans counter that subsidy cuts will result in greater cost-sharing and reduced benefits for enrollees.
