Surety keeps N.Y. emergency headquarters construction on track after contractor default

A contractor that had been building an emergency-services building in New York has gone into default. As of Monday, the contractor's surety was choosing between two companies looking to take over the project. Most of the work on the project is done, and the rest is expected to be finished around the original completion date.
