Boeing is close to approval for 787 plan, sources say

Boeing's plan to address battery issues on the 787 is close to approval by the Federal Aviation Administration, sources say. The National Transportation Safety Board plans to release an "interim factual report" today. However, Marc Birtel, a Boeing spokesman, said "if new information arises, we won't hesitate to improve the safety and reliability of our products."
