Facebook facelift aims to please both users and advertisers

Facebook will today announce a major overhaul of its newsfeed, in a bid to stoke user engagement while providing new channels for advertisers. The redesign is expected to include a greater focus on photos and videos, and opportunities for larger and splashier ads. "They have to walk a fine line between the user's needs and advertiser’s needs," says IDC analyst Karsten Weide.
