Supercell's secret is in small teams, learning from failure

Finnish application developer Supercell Oy is grossing a half million dollars a day on the success of two free games, Clash of Clans and Hay Day, writes Sven Grundberg and Juhana Rossi. CEO Ilkka Paananen says the company learned from the four failures it produced before striking gold, and offers relatively high salaries to attract skilled workers to Helsinki's harsh climate. Development teams of 10 or fewer reduce bureaucracy and speed development, says Drussila Hollanda, one of the company's developers.
